Lonnie Bell
Lead Preaching Pastor-Elder
I am a believer in the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, who is my life and hope. I am married to my best friend and high school sweetheart, Jennifer, and am the proud daddy of three sweet kids, Jacob, Adeline, and Olivia.
I’m originally from North Carolina, where I served churches as an Interim Senior Pastor and Youth Pastor. I came to Four Corners in 2015 after completing my Ph.D. in New Testament at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. My dissertation research was focused on the earliest Greek manuscripts of the Gospel of John. I received a B.A. in History and Religious Studies from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.Div. in Advanced Biblical Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
I enjoy traveling with my family, running, reading Christian classics, eating Indian food, going to the movies with my wife, and playing with my kids. I love studying the Bible and consider it a great privilege to teach it weekly to God’s people as a pastor. My favorite passage is Psalm 1, which reminds me of the sufficiency and life-giving power of the Scriptures. I pray that our time in God’s Word will grow our awe of Christ, resulting in greater love, trust, and service for “the sake of his name” (Romans 1:5).
