The Lord opened my eyes and renewed my heart in 1995 when I was in Air Force pilot training at Wichita Falls, TX. I also met my wife Katherine, the love of my life, on that assignment. She went with me all over the country, from Louisiana to Rhode Island to Hawaii, but most of our time was spent at Whiteman AFB in Missouri. No matter where we were, we sought out Bible believing churches where we could grow in our knowledge of and obedience to scripture and live in community with God’s people.
When I retired from the USAF in 2015, I got a job with Delta Air Lines so we moved to the south side of Atlanta, not really knowing anyone there. We got plugged in with Four Corners Church the first month we arrived and have never looked back. I served as a gospel community leader and deacon prior to being called as an elder. Katherine serves in women’s ministry and previously served in the children’s ministry.
Katherine and I have five adult children, Sara, Andrew, Philip, Mary and Anna. They are a huge blessing to us and we are continually amazed at the way God works uniquely in each of their lives. We all love to hike in the mountains, both in the southern Appalachians and the National Parks of the American west. My prayer is to eagerly cloth myself in humility, that I may be on guard for myself and the flock.
